The Seventy weeks prophecy of Daniel 9 is an amazing prophecy, that:

(1) Gives a Probationary time line for the Nation of Israel to Repent of their sins, refrain from transgressing the Everlasting Covenant that God made with them AND also the return to Statues, Ordinances and Judgments in the Law of Moses.

At the End of this Seventy weeks probationer period, if the Nation fail to return to God; to keep his Covenant that he enjoined with them, and to perform the Statues, ordinances and judgment that were written in the Law of Moses. Then they would cease to be a Nation before God and thus would no longer be fit to be called his chosen people.

(2) Accurately predicting the time of the Messiah's arrival, the institution of the Promised Covenant, the sacrificial death of the Messiah, and things that the Messiah would do at different time in his ministry. *

elijah_2 24.03.11 - 02:16am
Now, let us dive into the studying of this amazing prophecy. *

elijah_2 24.03.11 - 03:10am
DANIEL 9:24
24. Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. *

elijah_2 24.03.11 - 03:27am
How manys days are their in Seventy weeks?

It's a simple Math... First of all we have to find out how many days are there in a week.

And if you were to read Genesis 1 & 2 you will see that there are Seven days in a week.

So then you would have to simply multiply the Seven days x Seventy which will give you 490 days *

elijah_2 24.03.11 - 03:57am
But this time line that the angel gave Daniel is a prophetic time line, meaning that the days mentioned are NOT Literal days, rather its a prophetic day.

And if you were to read the Book of Numbers where God told the Israelities through Moses that he was going to let them wander the wilderness for forty days and Moses then said to the people, that those Forty days represents Forty years

NUMBERS 14:34
34. After the number of the days in which ye searched the land, even forty days, each day for a year, shall ye bear your iniquities, even forty years, and ye shall know my breach of promise. *

elijah_2 24.03.11 - 04:01am
Also, God told Ezekeil that he is going to punish the Tribe of Judah for forty days but he was speaking forty prophetic days, which amounts to forty years.

EZEKIEL 4:6
6. And when thou hast accomplished them, lie again on thy right side, and thou shalt bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days: I have appointed thee each day for a year. *

elijah_2 24.03.11 - 04:06am
Bible Scholars both Jewish and non Jewish calls this principle of a day representing a year.

The day-year principle. *

elijah_2 24.03.11 - 04:17am
Therefore: In applying the day-year principle to the 490 days time line we will get NOT 490 literal days rather we will get 490 years *

elijah_2 24.03.11 - 04:24am
So God gave the Nation of Israel a 490 years probationer period to return to him; to return to his covenant with them AND the statues, ordinances and judgments laid out in the Book of the Law or else they will ceased to be a Nation before him. And they will no longer be fit to be called his people. *

elijah_2 24.03.11 - 04:27am
Now, whenever we are given a prophetic time line we have to first established a starting point for that time line.
And in the Book of Daniel chapter 9, the Angel Gabriel not only gives the starting point for the time prophecy, but also he gave some events that will transpire during that time line. *

elijah_2 24.03.11 - 02:26pm
DANIEL 9:25-27
25. Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem... *

elijah_2 24.03.11 - 02:41pm
But Jerusalem was broken down and utterly destroyed at this time, from the time when king Nebudchadnezzar and his armies went to Jerusalem besiege the city and destroyed. (2 Kings 25:8-13)

And that decree or command to restore and rebuild Jerusalem can be found in the book of Ezra, because the prophet Ezra was living in the time when the decree/command was given to go restore and rebuild Jerusalem. *

elijah_2 24.03.11 - 05:43pm
- There were actually four commands issued that can be located in scripture and must be considered:

(1) Ezra 1:1-14, 1st year of Cyrus, dated to 537 B.C.

(2) Ezra 6:1-12, 2nd year of Darius dated to 520 B.C.

(3) Ezra 7:1-27, 7th year of Artaxerxes dated to 457 B.C.

(4) Neh 2:1-8, 20th year of Artaxerxes dated to 444 B.C. *

elijah_2 24.03.11 - 07:59pm
So, if there were four different decrees that were given to restore and rebuild Jerusalem, then how do we know which of the decrees to apply?

The answer is found in Daniel Chapter 9

DANIEL 9:25
...the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

Now, there is only in one of the decrees that there were given, that there was troublous times and that was at the time of the Third degree which was the year 457 B.C. *

elijah_2 24.03.11 - 08:15pm
The troublous times mentioned by Daniel in chapter 9, is described in (Ezra 4:23-24). Which was in the year 457 B.C. *

elijah_2 24.03.11 - 08:27pm
Therefore: Having established the starting point for the 490 years time line we can being to put it all together.

If we were to Add 490 years which is the length of the Seventy weeks time line, to 457 B.C. Which was the starting point or the year when a degree was given to restore and rebuild Jerusalem in troublous times, we reach to the year 34 A.D.

457 B.C. + 490 years = 34 A.D. *

elijah_2 24.03.11 - 09:15pm
So in putting all what we have learned together.

God gave the Israelities a 490 years probationary period starting from 457 B.C. and will extend to the year 34 A.D. for them to return to his covenant AND the statutes, ordinances and judgments written in the Book of the Law of Moses.

And if they fail to return to him during that period, then they will ceased to be a Nation before him and they will no longer be fit to be called his people.

Furthermore; God also gave Daniel and his people some list of events that would transpire between the beginning and ending of the probationary time line. *

elijah_2 24.03.11 - 09:55pm
DANIEL 9:25-27
25. Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

26. And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

27. And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. *

elijah_2 24.03.11 - 10:00pm
Events that will transpire within the 490 years time period are:

1. After 62 weeks have run off starting from the year 457 B.C. Then the Messiah will come.

DANIEL 9:25
25. Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: *

elijah_2 24.03.11 - 10:21pm
Now, in math a score equals 20 so, threescore would be (3x20) which equals to 60

Therefore; in Adding seven weeks + threescore (60) weeks + two weeks it equals to 69 weeks.

7+60+2=69 weeks *

elijah_2 24.03.11 - 11:31pm
To find out how many days there are in 69 weeks?

All we need to do is to find out how man days make up a week, and as we have seen previously, that there are seven days in a week.

So all we need to do is to multiply seven x 69 weeks to find out how manys days are there in 69 weeks

7 x 69 = 483

Therefore: 69 weeks is equal to 483 days *

elijah_2 24.03.11 - 11:34pm
And in applying the day-year principle to this time period just like what we did with the 70 weeks (490 days), and in doing so we get NOT 483 literal days, but 483 years. *

elijah_2 24.03.11 - 11:37pm
Now, this 483 years started in the year 457 B.C. and extended to the year 27 A.D. *

elijah_2 24.03.11 - 11:51pm
Before we go any further let us re-examine some things in case we have lost anyone.

This 69 weeks (483 years) is NOT a different time line from the Seventy weeks (490 years). Rather they are referring to the same time periods.

The angel Gabriel told Daniel that God gave the Israel a 490 years (Seventy weeks) probationary time line to return to him. Gabriel then spits up the Seventy weeks (490 years) time line into segments and explained that there were some significant things that were going to took place during this Seventy weeks (490 years) time line. *

elijah_2 25.03.11 - 12:10am
457 BC--------- + 70 weeks--------- 34AD
457 BC--- + 69 weeks --- 27AD ---- 34AD *

elijah_2 25.03.11 - 12:19am
So 69 weeks (483 years) into the 70 weeks (490 years) starting at the same date 457 B.C. Will bring us to 27 A.D. *

elijah_2 25.03.11 - 12:28am
Furthermore; the bible speaks of a week in (DANIEL 9:27).

DANIEL 9:27
27. And he [Messiah] shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he [Messiah] shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. *

elijah_2 25.03.11 - 12:51am
Question: Is this one week in (Daniel 9:27) a New time line AND when does it starts?

The Answer is NO its not a new time line. And this one week time line begins at the end of the 69 weeks (483 years) which is the year 27 A.D.

This one week mentioned in verse 27 is apart of the seventy weeks (490 years) of Verse 24 which the angel Gabriel said is determined upon The Israelities to return to God. *

elijah_2 25.03.11 - 01:01am
2). The Messiah will die cut off, but not for himself. But it doesn't say exactly when the Messiah will die in this verse.

DANIEL 9:26
26. And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself...

But in verse 27 its says that it will be in the middle of the one week *

elijah_2 25.03.11 - 01:16am
3). The Messiah will confirm the Covenant with the Israelities for one week

DANIEL 9:27
27. And he [Messiah] shall confirm the covenant with many for one week... *

elijah_2 25.03.11 - 02:03am
Now, the Covenant that the Messiah was to confirmed was the covenant that God promise to make with the Israelities in (Jeremiah 31:31-33).

JEREMIAH 31:31-33
31. Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:

32. not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers, in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was a husband unto them, saith the LORD:

33. but this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. *

elijah_2 25.03.11 - 02:06am
4). In the middle of the week the Messiah shall cause the sacrifices and obligation to ceased.

Daniel 9:27
...and in the midst of the week he [Messiah] shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease... *

elijah_2 25.03.11 - 02:21am
Now, one week and a week means the very same thing.

And as we have seen before that one week OR a week contains Seven days

And in applying the. day-year principle to this week (7 days) we get NOT Seven literal days, but Seven years

Therefore; one week equals to Seven years.

1 week = 7 years *

elijah_2 25.03.11 - 01:44pm
Before; we go any further, we must note that if this one week doesn't begin immediately at the end of the 69 weeks (verse 25) then the Seventy weeks time line of (verse 24) wouldn't be correct.

Because, it clear says the probationer time line is Seventy weeks (verse 24) and when we go to (verse 25) it mentioned a, 69 weeks and if we were to add the one week in (verse 27) to the 69 weeks (verse 25). Then will get the Seventy weeks mentioned in (verse 27).

70 wks (vs.24) The Original Time Line
69 wks (vs.25) + 1 wk (vs.27) = 70 wks. *

elijah_2 25.03.11 - 01:47pm
To be continued... *

elijah_2 26.03.11 - 04:06pm
Now, as we have already seen before that the Seventy weeks (490 years) in it's totality begins in the year 457 B.C. And extends to the year 34 A.D.

The 69 weeks (483 years) will bring us one week (7 years) short of the Seventy weeks (490 years) which is the year 27 A.D.

But when we ADD the one week (7 years) to the end of the 69 weeks (483 years) it brings us again to the year 34 A.D. *

elijah_2 26.03.11 - 04:23pm
The Bible says in (vs.27) that in the middle of the week (7 years), the Messiah will cause the sacrifices and obligations to cease.

What we need to do is establish what is the middle of the week (7 years).

The term middle simple means half way point in the week (7 years).

Now, the middle of the week (7 years) or half way point of the week (7 years) is 3 and 1/2 years *

elijah_2 26.03.11 - 04:44pm
Remember, we have already seen that this one week (7 years) begins at the end of the 69 weeks (483 years) which is the year 27 A.D.

Therefore; this one week (7 years) begins in the year 27 A.D. and will end in 34 A.D. *

elijah_2 26.03.11 - 05:09pm
The bible says, in the middle of the week or half way point in the week (3 and 1/2 years) the Messiah would cause the sacrifices and obligations to cease. And we have already seen that this one week (7 years) begins in the year 27 A.D. and ends in the year 34 A.D.

Hence, If we were to go to the middle or half way point (3 and 1/2 years) from 27 A.D. to 34 A.D. we come to the year 31 A.D. *

elijah_2 26.03.11 - 05:22pm
In Summary;

We have studied the Seventy week (490 years) time lime, which was a probationary time line that God gave the Israelities to repent and return him, that begun in the year 457 B.C. and extends to the year 34 A.D.

And if they fail to repent and return to him within that time line (from 457 B.C to 34 A.D.). Then they will cease to be a Nation before him, and will no longer be fit to be called his chosen people. *

elijah_2 26.03.11 - 05:31pm
Also:

We have arrive at THREE (3) different dates during our study.

The first one is the year 27 A.D.
The second one is the year 31 A.D.
The third one is the year 34 A.D. *

elijah_2 27.03.11 - 04:20pm
Now let's talk about these dates one by one.

THE FIRST DATE we have is the year 27 A.D.

According to prophecy what are the events to transpire in the year 27 A.D.?

1) The Messiah will appear

Daniel 9:25 - Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks. *

elijah_2 27.03.11 - 04:28pm
Note: As we have studied earlier seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks (69 weeks) from the commandment to restore and rebuild Jerusalem in the year 457 B.C. will take us to the year 27 A.D. *

elijah_2 27.03.11 - 05:00pm
The word Messiah is a not a Hebrew word, but a English Word.

In the Hebrew it is (meshiach or mashiakh or mashiah) which means; The Anointed

In Aramaic it is the word (mshikha) which means; The Anointed

Similarly, the word Christ is not a Greek word, but a English word.

In Greek it is: (Khristos) which means; The Anointed

The Old Testament word Messiah is equivalent to the New Testament word Christ

Therefore: According to the prophecy, if the Messiah is suppose to appear in the year 27 A.D. AND the word Messiah means; The Anointed One

Then that means that, the one that appears in the year 27 A.D. AND is anointed he is the Messiah. *

elijah_2 27.03.11 - 05:10pm
1b). The Messiah will die some time AFTER the year 27 A.D.

Daniel 9:26 - And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself. *

elijah_2 27.03.11 - 05:27pm
THE SECOND DATE we have is the year 31 A.D.

According to the prophecy, what are the events that are to transpire in the year 31 A.D.?

1) The Messiah will cause the sacrifices and obligations to cease.

Daniel 9:27 - ...and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease... *

elijah_2 27.03.11 - 05:42pm
THE THIRD DATE we is the year 34 A.D.

According to the prophecy what are the events that are to transpire in the year 34 A.D.

1) The Close of the Probationary period that God gave the Israelities to repent and return to him.

Daniel 9:24 - Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity...

2) The Messiah would begin the CONFIRMATION OF THE COVENANT in the year 31 A.D. and will complete it in the year 34 A.D.

Daniel 9:27 - And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week... *

elijah_2 27.03.11 - 06:01pm
----REVEALING THE MESSIAH---- *

elijah_2 27.03.11 - 06:14pm
We are now Living in the year 2011 A.D. And it's obvious that the dates: (27 A.D., 31 A.D., and 34 A.D.) are all in the past.

Therefore: The Messiah should have come already. And if he had already arrive, then who is or who was the Messiah? *

elijah_2 30.03.11 - 02:10pm
Now, the prophet Isaiah as also the prophet Malachi prophesied that before the Messiah actually arrived, their would be a forunner would prepare the way of the LORD and make ready a people prepared to meet the Messiah. *

elijah_2 30.03.11 - 02:23pm
Isaiah [Isaiah 40:1-5]

1. Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.

2. Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the LORD's hand double for all her sins.

3. The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.

4. Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:

5. And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it. *
